Who We Are
We have been canoeing and camping together for over 20 years. We've taken folks down many of Maine's premier wilderness canoe rivers and lakes. We have gained our leadership experience taking hundreds of clients, families, and friends into the wilds of Maine.
Tim and David are Registered Maine Guides, licensed by the Maine Department of Inland Fish and Wildlife. We are committed to providing a safe,
legal and quality wilderness experience. We have spent
many moons gaining respect and reverence for the Maine
outdoors. - David achieved Master Recreation Guide status in 2009
Our philosophy is to provide you with a safe Maine wilderness experience, understanding your abilities and desires. We believe and follow Leave No Trace camping practices, have a deep wilderness ethic and abide by all the laws of the great State O' Maine.
We strive to limit our impact, and act to ensure that the Maine woods remains a sustainable resource for generations.
FAMILY CANOE CAMPING: We provide services that other guides and outfitters may not offer. We enjoy camping and canoeing with families. Our adventure vacations allow families to access remote areas with children without the worry of inexperience. We know how to camp with kids. Imagine lugging all that extra gear that you need for the little ones, go ahead, bring the port-a-crib and sassy seat, we will make sure you have time to enjoy nature and take in those beautiful sunsets too. The shared adventure of camping with small children, experiencing wilderness, and gaining outdoor skills will provide paddling and hiking adventures that will be cherished family memories. We have experienced many of the challenges, know what the limits are, and have learned from our experience. You will be surprised how much fun kids of all ages have on wilderness camping trips! Kids these days can benefit enormously from all outdoor experience, we strive to leave no child inside!

He and Tracey have raised two children, Amanda and Doug, who are both attending college. As a boy, David learned his outdoor skills in the Boy Scouts with canoeing and camping trips that included special trips to Maine. Arriving in Maine in 1986 to start a professional career in the computer industry, he was eager to get outdoors. Maine is a big state, with almost an endless list of places to paddle camp and explore. Around the campfire he is sure to tell stories of the highlights of those early trips with family and friends. We want to be your guides into the Maine woods. If you've never experienced Maine, or maybe you have already been here and you would like to bring your family or friends to experience what you've already found, that's what we're here for. Infants to elders, we will accommodate your special needs. The most frequent comment we get from seniors who go on our trips is "I've always wanted to do the Allagash."
