Introduction to Winter Camping  - Northern Maine
Wadleigh Pond cabin – On the edge of the North Maine Woods there is a cabin that is cozy warm.  It is the perfect introduction to winter camping.  It is a 2-mile x-country ski or snowshoe to the cabin from the Golden Road.  The cabin has a wood stove for heat and cooking.  There are miles and miles of skiing and snowshoe trails to learn or improve your winter travel technique. Learn about proper gear; nutritious, high-energy foods; winter sleeping systems and shelters; and most importantly, winter safety.  If conditions permit, we will build a quinzee (snow shelter) or an igloo.

Introduction to Winter Camping – Southern Maine
Our overnight winter camping weekends teach you how to enjoy a night out in the winter cold.  It is not so much about where we go, as much as it is about the proper equipment, skills and safety to have fun camping in the snow.   Specific destination will be determined as part of the planning process.  Wherever we choose to go there will be a cabin close by.
Provided there is enough snow, we will build quinzees (snow shelters) or igloos and stay in them overnight.

Intermediate Winter Camping – New Hampshire
Plan to stay out in the cold windy Whites for the night.  We will snowshoe or ski into a shelter and either stay in the lean-to or built or own shelter.  Expect to be all 'geared up' and ready to go bright and early.  Always good to get an early start when heading out in winter.  Weather will make the final call regarding where we go.  Basic itinerary, snowshoe or ski about 3-5 miles to one of the remote lean-tos.  Establish camp and day hike from base to either a summit, vista or other sites of interest.  Always a great time, endless possibilities when planning a trek in the Whites!

Advanced Winter Camping – AT through Gulf Hagas Over White Cap to West Branch Pond
This will be an adventure with plenty of challenges.  Will plan on staying in Lean-tos for the first 3 nights and enjoying the luxury of the West Branch Pond Sporting Camps for the final night.
Will need to pack light for the rugged terrain of the Appalachian Trail
.  Will plan on backpacking with skies and snowshoes.  We will plan on covering about 6 miles per day.
